How To Lose Weight?

Weight gain despite regular exercise for 6-7 months. Doing cardio and light weights. Trouble going and or staying asleep. No depression. Work is great. Family is great. 47 years old. Have gained 20 lbs over the last year and despite exercising regularly can not lose weight.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Gaining weight despite doing exercise could be due to associated endocrine dysfunction, particularly that of thyroid gland called 'hypothyroidism'.
Kindly get your blood analysed for Free T3 (FT3), Free T4 (FT4) and TSH levels. In case there is alteration, you need to consult Physician or Endocrinologist for appropriate management.
In case it is normal, you need to cut down calorie intake added to exercise, which over a period of time would help you to reduce weight.
