How To Differentiate Symptoms Between Ulcerative Colitis And IBS?

I was diagnosed with Crohn s and ulcerative colitis in Minnesota and have been on Humira for three years. Now I ve moved to Florida and my new doctor doesn t think I have Crohn s, he just said I have IBS. Now I m having inflammation in my joints because he took me off of the Humira and I can barely walk and have diarrhea every day. What should I do

Hi,

You should find another doctor. If you have had an ileocolonoscopy or MRI of your bowel (and preferably also biopsies from your gut) that suggest IBD, you have IBD. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion, and your symptoms now that you are off humira definitely suggest that you indeed have IBD.
