Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Since you have undergone the surgery for hernia just 5 weeks ago and you are continuing with Cardio exercises there are chances that there is a swelling in the operated site as a part of regular healing mechanism added on by the trauma caused by day-to-day activities.
To find out the recurrence the simple tests are as follows:
Put a palm of hand on the affected site and cough or strain hard and see for impulse on coughing.
If at all there is an impulse on coughing the second test of complete reducibility is also equally important that is the contents reduce completely on pressure.
If any of these is missing then this is most probably be due to healing stage, fibrosis formation, nerve entrapment and so on.
Ultrasonography of the affected area with same procedure that is impulse on coughing and reducibility can confirm what it is.
Consult your Operating Surgeon to know the exact diagnosis and act upon as advised.
Till then have strict rest, avoid any activity that causing straining.
Take laxative if there is constipation.
