How To Detect Pregnancy?

Hello,

My name is Laura. I'm 21 years old. I am usually very regular when it comes to getting my period. I would get it the 11th of each month. I had sexual intercourse with my husband on March 30. My period for April was delayed. I was suppose to get it the 11th and it ended up getting it on the 17th. My period usually lastes 6 days and is very heavy during the 2nd-4th day. This time I only had it for 3 days and the 18 was the only day that I had a heavy flow. I m also getting a white-milk discharge from my breast. I have been feeling extremely tired, cramps, headaches, backaches, and nauseous. I recently took a home pregnancy test and the results come back negative. Is it possible that I can still be pregnant?

Hallow Dear,

If you get your menses on 11th of each month, 30th does fall in the fertile window of the cycle. You had unprotected intercourse on 30th. So the possibility of pregnancy is very high.

Your next menses were delayed and when they appeared they were rather scanty. Though missing a period is classic feature of pregnancy, occasionally, some bleeding may appear around the expected menses or little later in earlier months of pregnancy. Moreover, you are having secretions from the nipples. So the pregnancy should be considered.

Now that it is almost 6 weeks from your previous regular menses, pregnancy test on the urine will give you the evidence of pregnancy status. Even ultrasonography also can provide you direct visual evidence.

All the symptoms you have narrated do appear to be due to early pregnancy.

I hope this clarifies your doubts.
