My daughter is 19, she was diagnoised with ITP last May 2013. Her platelets stay around 7,000. She has had in the last year 4 rounds of oral steriods, IVHG transfusion, and recently a second round of Rotuximab. The first round her platelets rose to 76,000 then went back to 7,000 today they were at 17,000 she goes back next week. Her concern is her menstrual cycle starts when her platelets get low, then its hard to stop, last period lasted 19 days, even taking 2 birth control pills a day. Any suggestion on what to do about her period, and will she be able to live a normal life with her platelets at 7,000. SHe is tired, goes to college and works part-time. Thank You
