How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hi I'm 25 and 5ft7, 63kgs. No real problematic med history. I have period cycles that usually last around 37 days. Today is day41. On the day my period was due a had spotting extremely light ( only once when I wiped) and the same thing the next day. I took a test this morn and it is negative. What could be the cause of this lateness if not pregnant? Could it be a false negative?

Your periods are just 4 days over due. Pregnancy test done on urine at this stage is not reliable.
Wait for a week and then do the test. If still in doubt, you may get ultrasonography done.
Pregnancy detection by urine test or ultrasonography is conclusive after about 8-10 days of missed period. Of course, beta hCG tests give the results even after 2-3 days of missed period.
You may choose your tests.
