What your MA has told you is very right. This means your
pregnancy test is week positive due to low
hCG. Such thing happens when the baby is not growing properly or is not in a position to get implanted properly.
If your baby inside is non viable for little less than week or so, the hCG production has stopped and hence the levels are going down and down. However, in such case you would have started bleeding already.
The other possibility I see more probable is ectopic pregnancy; i.e. baby implanted somewhere outside the
uterine cavity. Most commonly it happens in the tubes and is known as tubal pregnancy.
This condition is known to land in alarming bleeding due to the rupture of the tube. So please get diagnosed well in time, may be by
laparoscopy and treated at the same time to avoid the serious complication. Many a times this may not be diagnosed by
ultrasonography.
If it is the condition, with unruptured tube, now a days it can be treated successfully by medicines or laparoscopic tubal evacuation also. Otherwise, particularly if the tube is ruptured causing alarming bleeding, the tube may have to be removed if it cannot be evacuated and/or repaired.
