How Should I Ease Bowel Movement Pain After Undergoing A Sphincterotomy Surgery ?
Hi, I have just undergone lateral sphincterectomy four days back and never had any post-operative pain but even now after the operation I have been suffering from terrible pain during bowel movement . I have to exert a lot of force to push out stool. I eat normal home-made non spicy veg food but still suffer with this knife like pain. Please advice.

There could be unhealed wound due to the surgery. You need to take plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Avoid constipating food like non-veg. You may take Cremaffin syrup under medical supervision to soften stool. It should heel in a couple of weeks when soft stool passes. You can do Sitz bath for relief as well.

Read your prob, pain during passing stool is common complication of this type of operation, do not worry it may be subside after 7 to 15 days. you should rule out other cause of pain like neuropathy. you should apply local anesthetic gel there it helps in subsiding pain. along with it you should avoid fatty n spicy food , take fiber riched diet.
