Hospital associated pneumonia is one of the leading causes of morbidity in hospital ICUs. The seriousness of his illness depends on the predisposing factors like COPD and bronchitis and within how many days did the pneumonia develop. Early onset pneumonias have a better prognosis. Staphylococci are the most common pathogens causing hospital associated pneumonia and are usually MRSA types. Such staphylococci are usually multi drug resistant. Combination therapy as prescribed by his doctors is the right choice. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Thanks.
