How Safe Is Taking Ercefuryl For Ameoba In Stool?

Use of ercefuryl for amoeba - I've been diagnosed to have some trace of amoeba in my stool. Was perscribed a sulfamide (which I'm allergic to so haven't taken) then the chemist gave me ercefuryl instead. Is it effective on ameobas? What are the side effects & contracindications?

Hello,

Ercefuryl drug contains Nifuroxazide 200 mg, a highly GI specific antibiotic used for various intestine problems. It is highly effective against amoebas.

Side effects include minor gastric upset, nausea, metallic mouth, diarrhea allergic reactions in varying number of patients. Contraindications include history of reaction to same drug molecule.
