Pediatrician 's  Response
Atarax (hydroxyzine) is a good antiallergic and helps in relieving cough in children. It is safe but the main problem it can cause is excessive sleepiness. Although it is safe to give atarax thrice daily, in such a case, you might hold the dose and get the child examined by a pediatrician so that he would be able to assess if the child is otherwise fine. Colicaid is safe too and can be used.
