Hello,
there is no need for many sugar measurements. Most experts agree that individuals with a normal glucose result can check their blood sugar again in 3 years. The guidelines suggest oral glucose tolerance tests for individuals with impaired fasting glucose. Since you had a borderline value (100mg/dL fasting glucose) and your father is diabetic, I would suggest a new evaluation next year, unless you develop symptoms like increased volume of urine, excessive thirst and weight loss in the meantime. I doubt you would be proven to be a diabetic right now, that's why I would not recommend immediate oral glucose tolerance testing.
Your family history and the increased fasting glucose (borderline) suggest the possibility of an evolving glucose regulation problem. I advice you to abandon the sedentary life style and engage in physical activities like walking every day. This can help delay the onset of overt diabetes. A healthy diet is very important as well.
Kind Regards!
