How Long Does A Typical Bout Of Food Poisoning Last?

How long does a typical bout of food poisoning last? I have had diareaha for about 4 days now. It started as mostly pale yellow liquid. It changed to a greenish tinted liquid the second day. It was brown and more the consistency of yogurt the third and 4th day. I have had cramping that seems mostly due to gas. Is this something that just needs to run its course, or should i visit my Dr. and make sure it is not something more severe like eboli or ecoli?

Hi

Food Poisoning which is also called food borne illness is caused by eating contaminated food. Infectious food like bacteria, virus and parasites and some types of toxins are responsible for the illness

The symptoms, can start within hours of eating contaminated food, often include nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Most often, food poisoning is mild and resolves without treatment. But some people need to go to the hospital

Generally the symptoms last for one to two weeks some times it may last most on severity of infections

The following remedies can give relief

- Take Sporlac(lactobacillus powder) mixed in a glass of drinking water and consume it two to three times daily

- Avoid Alcohol

- Avoid Spicy food

- Butter milk and tender coconut can be taken

- two spoons of Apple Cider vinegar can be taken twice daily along with water

- With half glass of water can mix half spoon of activated charcoal and can be consumed twice daily till the symptoms are relieved

If you still have any concerns please feel free to contact back

Do meditation as per your age(eg if your age is 45 can do 45 minutes of meditation) which will relieve stress and improve immunity

Wish You Good Health
