How Long Does Acyclovir Take To Reduce CMV IgG Level?

Hello, I am 26 years old , married I was planning to get pregnant but before that i did some tests I have an old viral infection CMV IgM negative CMV IgG positive (296 U/ml) My doctor adviced me not to get pregnant until this value is dropped and she gave me acyclovir for one month i took my medication and did another test one month later the value dropped slightly to 282 U/ml. I am very confused for how long i should take medication and at what level it is safe to get pregnant ??

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
IMG are an indication of a previous infection and will last for years. They are protective immunoglobulins and cannot be brought down by the acyclovir treatment. You should consult some expert gynecologist. You may need to do further tests like PCR and then you can go for pregnancy. Further you can do certain tests like amniocentesis during your pregnancy. Please google this topic and read your self.
