As per your complain tonsillitis can be due to bacterial or viral infection and as you are given Penicillin it is a right medicine and you should complete the recent course and do not take any further antibiotics as you are relieved of the sore throat and also you have got a white film over the tongue which is due to yeast infection known as Oral Thrush and it occurs in some patients taking antibiotics as antibiotics also destroy the good bacterial present in mouth that are responsible for the prevention of supernumerary infections.. You can do warm saline gargles, chew vitamin c pellets and avoid spicy foods for relief from tonsillitis.. For white coating you can gargle with Nystatin mouthwash and suck on clotrimazole lozenges and take ample of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic.. Continue for 2 weeks and if still there is no improvement consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he / she can advise you to take oral anti-fungal medicines like Fluconazole or Itraconazle..
