TTC over one year. I had myomectomy to remove fibroid on June 2013. After the surgery doctor reported that my ovaries and Fallopian tubes are normal. After 3 months of surgery we are also trying to get pregnant. My periods are irregular. My doc advised to take duphaston 10mg every month for 5 consecutive days starting, 5 days before the period is due. I started the medication from September 2013 but till December I couldn't get pregnant. Then I used OPK on December and january and get positive OPK for 4 days and then negative and I have mild menstrual like cramps and breast pain on that days as well. However, I couldn't get pregnant. I wonder even if the OPK is positive the egg is not releasing. Pls help me on this.
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about these difficulties you have been encountering trying to conceive. We need to exercise more patience when ever we are trying to get pregnant. This is because, with no problems that make pregnancy difficult, becoming pregnant is not a guarantee. You need to try and try again and it is for this same reason that we give as much as one year of trial without success before becoming aggressive at this. I will suggest that you relax, try over and over again and if after 12months you do not get pregnant, then consult your OBGYN for further aggressive measures. THe tests may suggest that everything is okay but it is not guarantee. Continue with regular unprotected sex and hope something happens soon.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to for more information or clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
