How Does Sugar Level Affect The Heart?

hello

My dad's sigar level shot up above 600 mg/L, he was admitted to ICU. The sugar level was controlled however since he is a heart patient the Doctor when checked his blood test for the heart found something positive and told that he has to continue in the ICU till that level is also controlled. I m not sure what that level is? He is perfectly in a stable condition. Can you pls. tell me how the high sugar level can affect the heart?

hai,
High sugar level will damage the blood vessels of the whole body starting with peripheral vessels as well as small blood vessels (capillaries.)

When sugar level goes up the blood vessels will get damage lead to improper supply of nutrition to the heart muscles and it leads to heart failure.

prolonged uncontrolled blood sugar level will lead permanent to damage to heart muscles.

thank you
hope i answered your query
