How Can Vaginal Yeast Infection After Using Clotrimazole Be Treated?

So on April 24, I was diagnosed with a yeast infection, my doctor told me to use Clotrimazole 2% Vaginal Cream for 3 days. The cream did relieve the pain that I had and then got my menstrual cycle afterwards. I am know today having the same symptoms. Can I reuse this cream (its over the counter) once a month as needed? Or could these symptoms just be something new that my body is telling that I am going to start my cycle for the month?

Hi,

Yes, you can apply the same ointment again for 3-5 days. If symptoms don’t go away after 5 days then reconsult your gynecologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap,
