How Can Strongyloidiasis Be Treated?

My 14 y.o profou dly disabled daughter was positively diagnosed with strongyloides on Dec 16th through blood work. 5 days Ivermectin given. It wasn t enough. She is now pooping worms and what looks like raw meat. She is in great discomfort. Teet grinding, breath holding. Non-stop bowel movements that are soft. Weighs 62 lbs and never gains. What are the red meat things in the stool.? Also, a purplish dotted rash on belly and both legs.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

That is due to the killing of worms by Ivermectin which comes out through feces. You also have said that she is not gaining weight, it is also due to worms.

Worms use our energy fuel as per their need and they grow inside the guts; since our body lacks micro and macro nutrients, it makes us gain weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
