How Can Severe Insomnia, Resulting In No Sleep For Two Days, Be Treated?

I have severe insomnia, doctor says it is possibly due to low thyroid count. I can go as long as two days without sleep. I hate this. Have tried over the counter sleep aids. They do quiet the opposite for me, keep me wide awake. Have taken prescription temazepam. it works but afraid of it becoming habit forming. Any suggestions.

hello. what is your thyroid count. if its low then you should start thyroid supplementation . once your thyroid level will be ok your sleep will automatically improve.and you will not need any pill for sleep.you are right tamezepam may cause dependence but taking it for occassional sleep disturbance is fine
