How Can Recurrent Miscarriages Be Prevented?

Hi, I am 44 years old and have had 6 pregnancies and 4 live births. We have been trying to conceive for over 6 months and I have had 3 positive pregnancy tests during these months. Unfortunately, I seem to be conceiving and then losing the pregnancy anywhere between 6-8 weeks. I ve had the cortisol curve testing and all sec hormones are great. Is there anything you can recommend to help? I m otherwise in great health

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

At the age of 44, females tend to show atrophy of all genital organs like uterus, ovaries, cervix etc. Despite of normal hormone levels, these organs tend to show age related changes. These changes make them inappropriate for implantation. So when Fertile ovum try to implant in uterus, miscarriage occur. So get done cervical and uterine biopsy to rule out atrophy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
