How Can Pain In The Feet Be Treated?

My husbands feet have been in pain for a couple of months. He has been to the doctor and neurologist for testing and so far has been told the circulation is good and there is very little nerve damage but the pain is still there. He is on 2 medications and still painful. He wakes during the night and has to put them in ice water as well as several times throughout the day. What can it be? We are sincerely hoping we can fix his feet so life can be more normal for him.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The treatment of pain in legs depend on the cause and the intensity of the pain.Possible causes of pain in feet may include:
-Peripheral neuropathy
-Diabetic neuropathy
-Fibromyaogia
-ionic imbalances like low calcium, low magnesium
-Stress/strain
Treatment options may include: different lines of pain drugs depending on pain intensity, myorelaxants, steroid shots ocassionally, physiotherapy.
I will suggest you try the following:
*Take a pain drug like aceclofenac or stronger pain drug if pain too intense
*A myorelaxant like miorel
*Eat well and healthy with enough vegetables
*Remain active
*Cold/heat therapy
*You may hire a physiotherapist for massage
If these measures do not help, you see the Doctor for investigation and different treatment options like: Anti-seizure drugs, anti-depresants, steroid shots.
Hope this will help
Wish you a quick recovery
