How Can Pain Due To Rib Fracture Be Treated?

I M PRESENTLY SUFFERING FROM THREE CRACKED RIBS, I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND HE PRESCRIBED PERCOCET 2.5-325 FOR THE PAIN, I HAVE HAD THOSE PILLS IN THE PAST FOR BR0KEN RIBS AND THEY TEND TO MESS UP MY HEAD SO I TOOK TWO 500 mg TYLENOL EVERY 6 HOURS. TODAY THEY ARE REALLY NOT HELPING BUT TODAY I GOT A SLIGHT NOSE BLEED SO I STOPPED TAKING THE TYLENOL AND NEEDLESS TO SAY THE PAIN HAS RETURNED ALL MOST UNBEARABLE SHOULD I FILL THE SCRIPT FOR THE PERCOCET AND START ON THAT TO CONTROL THE PAIN.

Hello,

Rib fractures are managed by immobilization and painkillers. The pain due to rib fracture can only be controlled by opioids like Percocet.

However, if you are experiencing side effects due to Percocet, you may consult your treating doctor for a change of painkiller.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
