How Can Pain And Swelling In The Feet Be Treated?

Hello... A large & heavy fire extinguisher dropped onto my bare foot this morning. There was a small cut that bled only a little. I put ice on it for 10 min. It was only sore to wear closed-on shoes. There s been little pain all day, but my foot is still swollen. What do I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Persistent pain and swelling require evaluation with Xray foot and ankle to rule out a possible fracture. Please follow up with your primary care provider to get Xray done.
Meanwhile, apply ice, take rest, keep the affected leg elevated and take Ibuprofen 400 mg four times daily.

Hope this answers your question
