How Can Pain And Blockage In The Ear Be Treated?
hey doc, I had flu and then subsequently last Tuesday night had very bad ear pain and left ear blocked next Morning went to a local GP and he give me some antibiotic which I m still having its almost a week still I have left Ear blocked and cant hear properly so today I visited another GP who prescribe me avmys spray. I m still having the antibiotic is there any other thing or medication for this? I really need your help, as I ve to go to work but cant hear properly. Would appreciate your advice regarding this problem. Prem

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and blockage in the ear be treated which could be due to ear infection and meniere's disease . But in your case the infection has spread to the ear through eustachian tube form either upper respiratory track infection . Somtimes ear infection or blockage can also occur due to post nasal drip due to sinusitis. Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like CT scan , throat swab test and vital culture test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , decongestant and mucolytic agent . Also doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with vitamin and mineral supplement . Apply dry warm compresses to external ear and cover your ear while bathing.
