How Can One Determine The Completion Of Medical Abortion?

I had a missed miscarriage. OB gave me misoprostol. 2 200mg tablets inserted vaginally at a time twice per day for two days. I took the last dose 6 hours ago. (31 hours since first dose). I ve had light cramping, moderate bleeding off and on, but not heavy and a raspberry size blob discharge. I was 8 weeks along. Bleeding has slowed and gotten less dark. Is it possible to be over without heavy bleeding?

Hello dear,
I understand your concern.

In my opinion the bleeding on termination varies in different woman.

But usually it will be more than the usual period.

The bleeding will be heavy for initial 1-2 days and then on decreases but overall it will be more than the usual amount of period bleeding.

Anyways I suggest you to consult doctor and get any medicines to increase the bleeding.

Also get an ultrasound done after 14 days to check if the abortion has been complete.

Relax.Nothing to worry as such.

Hope this helps.
Best regards....Dr.Srilatha
