How Can Neurological Disability In The Second Child Be Avoided?
Dr. my son is having agenesis of corpus callosum.he is 11 years old and is severely retarded. My question is that if i plan to have a second child, is there any chances of second one having neurological disability. What precaution should i have? Please advice.
Hi, thanks for asking. I can understand your concerns. The chances of having other child with neurological disability increases when the parents have one child with neurological disability. In my opinion if you plan anather baby you should go for a complete fetal anomalies scan along with fetal MRI to rule out the neurological anomalies. Even after all the scans there might be a minor possibility that the anomalies may be missed. I hope I have helped you. Thank you.
