How Can Intestinal Parasites Be Removed While Breast Feeding?
Hello can you help I have had parasites and have been wormed with anthel 250mg I am breastfeeding my 19mth baby I have taken the first three tablets yesterday but I m still having parasite symptoms what can I do and I m worried about my baby getting them as well thank you.
It is understandable to be concerned. The medication for parasites would not reduce your symptoms immediately. It would take a few days for the symptoms to resolve completely. In terms of your daughter, the parasites would not be transmitted via breast milk though at 19 months, her diet would be mainly normal foods. Transmission would be prevented by very very careful hand washing after using the bathroom and during cooking. This would be the main route of possible transmission for her.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
