Hi Doctor! I had tinus virus (jock itch). i was prescribed with anti fungal medicines. I was using itroconozole and antifungal lotion. but before that i had used steroid based cream due to that i got scar on that area. Now after treatment the area is dark brown purple in colour. I had switched to dusting powder as prescribed by doctor which i was applying on the private part too. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can apply Clotrimazole- neopsorin combionation which is considered as best for jock itch. Make sure to apply the ointments for four weeks even after the lesions are resolved. You have to take oral antifungals also. You can take Fluconazole once a week basis for four weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
