How Can Food Poisoning Be Treated?

My mother and I ate at a Mexian Food Resturant on Sunday and both had the same thing a Fried Avacoda. On Monday night she started vomiting with diherra I took her to the ER on Tuesday morning and they thought it was just a viral infection. On Wednesday evening I started vomiting and diherria and we both have had the diaherria every since. When we try to eat something solid the diherria starts all over again. Liquids is fine but nothing else. What can we do to fix this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on your description, it appears that you both must be having residual gastrointestinal infection, which is causing diarrhea often. Kindly take a course of antibiotic containing Ornidazole with Ofloxacin twice daily after food for 5 days. Eat soft and easily digestible food for a week. Improve the quality of fluid intake. Avoid intake of spicy food till you become normal. Gradually, you both should be able to recover and be back to normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
