I have a huge phobia about contracting hepatitis b or c and it is ruining my life... I am so convinced that I have it even after 3 negative tests.. I am pregnant and I m so worried I will pass it on to my baby or my family I font know what to do I think I can get it through all sorts of crazy things what should I do.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
hello there, I have gone through your query and it seems you are very much upset and anxious thinking that you have got hepatatis B or C. You have already gone through blood tests thrice and they are negative for hepatitis. So it is confirmed that you are not having hepatitis. Now if still you are not convinced then I can see two conditions here. First is the delusional disorder where you have firm belief that you have got hepatits and second is OCD where only recurrent thoughts are coming to your mind that you have developed the disease. In both the above situation, you require to consult a psychiatrist and go through thorough evauluation. I will not advise you to take any medicine without consulting doctor as it can harm your baby. All the best
