Female patient aged 96 (moderate dementia) was prescribed lorazepan (1/2 mg twice daily) for compulsive skin picking. After a week the picking is worse than before? Are there any other mediations routinely indicated for such cases. Irritations and prescription skin reactions have been determined unlikely. I am one of the caretakers ( a relative).
