Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query your toddler have symptoms of cold and high fever which seems to be due to viral infection. It is due to poor and compromised immunity of body and increased susceptibility of getting infected.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Give child mild steam inhalation. You should use antipyretics such as Tylenol or Meftal P and take dose every 8 hours if required. You should consult pediatrician for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test and blood test . Usually it will go away by its own in few days , but doctor may prescribe antiviral like acyclovir.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
