How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

I have been backed up for about a week now. I have tried oral constipation remedies as well as suppositories with very little waste matter being purged out of my system. I also tried a enema today and there was a little blood after I discharged with almost no waste matter. I am starting to get a little concerned. I can hear and feel movement in my stomach. I have a previous bout with constipation 5 years ago and was prescribed 6 tablets of 5mg Bisacodyl. Anything else I can try to empty my bowels?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your description, it seems like you have impacted stools that fails to pass even with enema. The next possible option is manual removal of stools. Consult a surgeon and he can help you out with MRF (manual removal of feces).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
