How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

My 15 Year old daughter is badly constipated. For well over a week, i have given her coloxyl tablets for the last three days, increasing to 4 tables ,however she has only passed alittle bit of stool not enought to give her relief. She is agitated and uncomfortable. Any suggestions for a quick relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi , i would advice you to continue giving tablets for at least 3 days more with fiber diet . Encourage her to eat and exercise . And look for these signs . If they are there go to the Emergency immediately

1.Severe abdominal pain
2. An inability to pass gas
3.vomiting
4.stomach bloating
