How Can An Injured Tendon On The Right Hand Be Treated?

Hello Doc s! In 2014 I had an accident, and cut my tendon on my right hand pinky. I ve had two surgeries to try and repair it, but the surgeries were unsuccessful, the doctor who performed my surgery ended up putting a rod in it to keep it bent in place and now I have no use in it!!! I m curious is it to late to save it, so I may have use in it even slightly? Or would my best bet just be to remove it at the joint? It can get painful from time to time, and the worst part is it gets snagged on everything!!! What are my options???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As the previous surgeries have failed to suture the cut ends, a revision surgery is very difficult and will not get the optimum result.

You can go for physiotherapy to regain the mobility and generally will get almost full recovery with proper physiotherapy.

Consult a good physiotherapist, he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
