How Can An Infected Pore Which Is Pus Filled Be Treated?

My 10year olf son had a widened pore with while creamy tallow and picked on it. He has been going to the pool daily in camp and the sore is infected now. It is a bump filled with blood and other liquids. The area around the pore is red and a little less than an inch in diameter.

Hi.
As per your case history your son is probably having sebaceous cyst with secondary infection.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling. Take oral levofloxacin 250mg twice daily for 5 days.
4. Once infection is cleared, then you can go for surgical removal of cyst.

Thanks.
