General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The treatment depends upon the activation of hair follicles by different types of therapies. By topical diphencyphrone therapy the immune system can be stimulated, ultraviolet hair therapy activates the hair follicles and causes better blood circulation in the scalp.

After the therapy hair growth occurs in six months but it can stop or hair may start to fall again if therapy is stopped & medications neglected. Tofacitinib is usually prescribed. Since AU is an autoimmune disease stay well nourished & stay away from sickness. Wear hat or apply sunscreen when outdoors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
