How Can Acute Anxiety Attacks Be Treated?

I have anxiety which comes and goes. Occasionally and under certain circumstances (under pressure, lack of oxygen etc.) I get worse than normal attacks and the salivary gland openings on the under side of the tongue swell and become painful. Just recently I have noticed that they can sometimes "pop" and expel the fluid contained, which relieves the associated pain. Is this something to worry about?
