How Can A Rough Corneal Patch With Dry Eyes Be Treated?
I started feeling a sense of discomfort & slight blurness in my left eye 3 nights ago after long hours of wearing my contact lenses in airconditioned rooms. It felt almost like an eyelash was trapped inside my eye or a tear on my lense. I put eye drops each time there s discomfort and felt better but it was shortlived. I decided to check my eye. I found a small white candy floss like patch with slightly rough surface on my cornea just on top of my retina. It was around 3cm in length. I rinsed my eye many times with clean water. Nothing happened. I woke up the following morning to find the white was completely gone but the rough surface was still there, only less noticeable and smaller in size. I am under oral medical treatment for hyperthyroidism for 3 years already. I visited a Dr. many months ago and was told I have dry eyes. I noticed my left eye is more sensitive to light. I wonder what happened to my eye. This has never happened before. Right now i am putting artificial eye drops and monitoring the condition of my left eye. Can I ever wear contact lense again? Please advise. I am kind of worried. TQ.
this is complication of prolong use of contact lens resulting in dry eye syndrome. Remove contact lens and apply artificial tear eye drop. use your specs during this time. continue this till you feel normal. in future always remove your contact lens at bed time.
