Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have asperger s syndrome. I m very sensitive to stimuli. The perfume you can t smell; hits me like a sledgehammer. The feel of a cotton flannel sleeve causes intense itching. People in the medical community don t seem to understand these sensitivities. Or anything about Asperger s, really. Now I need a breast biopsy. I don t like being touched by people. I m terrified of having a meltdown because they don t respect or understand my needs. They also want to implant a titanium clip. Even normie women sometimes have reactions to these clips. Intense pain and itching. And when they complain about the clips...no one believes them! I don t want that. I declined the clip, and the radiology department refused to do the biopsy without it. Now I don t know what to do. I will not be forced to accept the clip when I know it will irritate. I m so tired of being treated like a stupid idiot for being wired differently. I feel like I just want to give up and walk away... Is there any easy way to find Drs who understand and can work with people on the spectrum?
