Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hot Flashes, Bloating, Lack Of Libido After Cutting HRT Medicines. Undergone Complete Hysterectomy. Suggestions?
I am 43 y/o female who has had a complete hysterectomy 17 yrs ago and have been on HRT meds for that time. In the past month my doc has cut my med in half which is causing hot flashes, bloating and lack of libido. I need to know if switching to herbal supp. for HRT is the thing to switch to. Also I am confused about low estrogen, does is cause weight gain or not?
Thanks for posting your query on this website. I fully appreciate your concerns.
I agree with your doctor partially, as he has given a tril to reduce the HRT doses to the lowest maintenance levels. Quite often, patients' condition remains stabilized on reduced doses.
Please go back to your doctor after around 2 weeks, if the symptoms persist. He may then revert back to earlier doses.
I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.
May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.
Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Fond Regards,
Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
