Hip Discomfort When Walking, Leg Pain. Anti-inflammatory Medicine Not Useful. Help
I have recently developed discomfort in my left hip especially when I walk and more recently an ache in my left leg even when not walking or exercising. When I walk for long periods I also get discomfort in my right hip. I have been to my doctor who gave me anti- inflammatories which made no difference. I guess I need to go back to the doctor. Thank you.
THE CAUSES FOR HIP DISCOMFORT WHILE WALKING MIGHT BE DUE TO 1. ARTHRITIS - STIFFNESS OF JOINTS WHICH IS CAUSED BY PAINFUL INFLAMMATION 2. BURSITIS - INFLAMMATION OF BURSA - TYPICALLY OCCURS IN THE KNEE AND ELBOW 3. AVASCULAR NECHROSIS - DUE TO DECREASED BLOOD SUPPLY TO THE JOINT WHICH CAUSES PERMANENT LOSS OF BONE TISSUE 4. TENDINITIS - INFLAMMATION OF THE TENDON.
AGE IS THE IMPORTANT FACTOR IN DETERMINE THE PROGNOSIS OF THE DISEASE.
GET MRI SCAN OF THE HIP JOINT RATHER THAN TAKING X RAY AND CT SCANS AND PROCEED CONSULT GOOD ORTHOPEDICIAN.
THANKS
