Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I recently went into the doctor and had some blood work done. I have had fatigue, shortness of breath and horrible 10 day periods amongst other things. I also have a enlarged kidney bean size lymph node in my groin. My doctor didn't do an exam at this visit, but a doctor 9 months ago didn't seem too concerned since my blood work at the time came back normal. My blood work from a few days ago came back normal except my ferritin level was 10 the normal range being 11-307. Also my white blood cell count came back slightly low at 3.9 x10(9)/L normal range being 4.0-10.5 x10(9)L She wants me to come back in a month to have my WBC checked again. Should I get a second opinion? I am scared with my swollen fixed lymph node in my groin that I am at risk for lymphoma. Also with my shortness of breath (which I realize could also have to do with my iron levels) I am scared and unsure what to do. Thank you for any advice.
