Hematoma In Calf After Car Accident, Painful. What To Do?

Hi My name is Tanya i was in a bad car accident in feb of this year. i suffered a very huge hematoma on the back of my calf. i was told it would go away in time and it is still there with shooting pains no fever. i am not sure what to do. at this point the doctor now wants to asperate but i am afraid that can cause infection. please help

Hi,
If there is big hematoma, many a time you may require aspiration.
Nothing to worry, your doctor will aspirate under full aseptic measures.
He will give antibiotic medicine to prevent infection as a prophilactic base.
Mean while apply ice pack 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes at a time.
