Heavy Discharge. Need Advice About Panty Liners

So i am 11 3/4 yrs old and i have asked a question on this website before.. It is called 11 yr old, have not attained menarche , underdeveloped breasts, get pale pink discharge . Stomach aches regularly. Cause? and it was answered by dr.nikita Islam. You probably didn t need to know that. -_- Anyway I would like to have some advice about using pantiliners for heavy discharge if possible please? I would like to know if I am ready to use them (this is where reading my other question comes in handy?!) as in if my body is mature enough and if I am old enough. Towards the end of last year I had spotted a pack of pads that my mum had secretly bought me in case I start my periods. I told her I had found them and I asked her if I was aloud to use pantiliners only when my discharge is heavy (occasionally. And when its heavy it leaks through my underwear.) she told me I was too young and so she didn t want me using things like that at my age. :( personally I think she doesn t want me to wear them because she thinks I am growing up too fast and/or money wise. She told me just to keep tissue down there and I remember seeing my mum doing it when i was little. I have tried the tissue before but it still leaks through and its uncomfortable and sometimes it falls out the bottom of my trousers! :S I told her but she just sighed and didn t reply. (she does this quite a lot which infuriates me! :() anyway so I have never used a pad or pantiliner before and I know the effects that can happen from using a pantiliner every day but I will not use them every day.. Just every time its heavy so I leak. so basically I just want to know if my body is ready and if i am old enough to wear them and some ideal brands maybe?.. And just some regular information about how often i need to change them and things like that. also i dont know whether i should discuss this with my mum again?.. She does have a tendency to flip out when asked something more than once! :S :( or should i just buy some if i go shopping with my friend and her parent(s)??!!!... :-/ thank you for your help and please get back to me asap! :) bye. :)

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The age of menarche may vary from individual to individual. It is no harm to consult your doctor or pediatrician who shall assess you regarding your growth and advise you accordingly.

Regarding panty liners, you can certainly use them. Whether they are liners or tissue or pads, the purpose is to absorb the discharge. You need to change them whenever they get soaked. As you have a problem seeking your mother's advice it is best to talk to her parents or your doctor who would guide you day to day.

I hope I have responded to your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing you all the best,

Regards,

RKK
