Heavy Cold Along With Random Single Spots On The Face In A Child With Chicken Pox Affected Friends. Is It Related?
My daughter has a heavy cold at the moment but also keeps getting random single spots appear on her face for a couple of days at a time. Chicken pox is going round her class, but she has had it badly before & these spots have not got the clear blisters in the middle. Could these be connected at all?
Hi, It is difficult to tell without seeing the spots. A second flare up of chicken pox can not be ruled out, especially in an appropriate environmental setting. Even though one infection generally confers life long immunity, we often see repeat attacks in our clinical practice. It is also possible that as this could be a second attack, this time a partial picture may show up, causing difference in the rash. Hope this helps.
