Headache, Lump After Hitting Head. Taken Motrin, Applied Ice. Anything To Worry?
My husband hit his head on a porclein shelf in our shower about an hour ago and the shelf cracked in half, fell to pieces on the ground. He says he is ok but has a bad headache and a huge lump now, says he is tired & just wants to go to bed. I gave him two motrin and he has bern sitting on the couch with an ice pack in his head. I think he should have it checked out at the ER but he says no..i am very concerned and just wondering your thoughts?

Hello,
He seems to be all right at the moment.
In case he develops persistent vomiting,bleeding from ears or nose or disorientation or blurring of vision or loss of consciousness,then he would need to go to ER to get examined and CT head done.
Treatment at the moment is icing and use of Motrin,as is being done by you.
