Having Right Abdominal Cramping, Repeated Vomiting And Difficult Bowel Movements. Used Softeners But No Help. Suggest?

Hi, I'm having lower right abdominal cramping. It has been off and on. Now I'm vomiting repeatedly. My bowel movements had been difficult for some time; I'd used softeners and prune juice to little result. Now I'm having soft movements. Today I also have a terrible headache (12 hours), but the other problems started prior. Any idea what this is and what I should do? I did just have a colonoscopy (10 yr) a week ago - which was fine.

Dear friend,

Thanks for posting your query on this website. I can fully appreciate your concern for problem.

Possibility of obstruction in the small/large bowel cannot be ruled out. Also, recurrent reversible appendicitis needs exclusion. you may therefore undergo an abdominal ultrasound to exclude/confirm presence of a growth/appendicular lump.

Yet another possibility can be worms infestation. it would therefore be worthwhile to take a deworming course (Tab Albendazole 400mg - one tablet every alternate day = total 3 tablets (to be chewed and then swallowed with water).

I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.

May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.

Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

Fond Regards,

Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
