Having Noticed A Red Mark With Blisters On The Chest

dear doctor,

Weeks Ago on a hiking Trip, I Developed a red mark about 6 cm in Diameter, on my chest. It Looked exactly like a sunburn and felt somewhat Tender. It Developed several small Blisters that oozed. One Month later, the mark has to a milky Brown, splotchy looking mark. It does Not hurt and there are no corresponding lumps. Should I be worried? Thanks.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of herpes zoster infection is more.
It is viral infection caused by herpes zoster virus. Chest region is most commonly involved.
It causes painful rash, blisters etc.
So better to consult dermatologist and get done clinical examination of the lesion.
You may need antiviral drug like acyclovir.
Anti inflammatory drugs are also useful. Application of cold ice packs are also useful.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
